Yesterday was my first Interview, it went really well I think. The jobs sounds just right. It isn't for a teller position, which is where most my experiance is, but it is in the personal banking area, which is where I was headed and where I was hoping to go. But there is a catch. It is also for receptionist...so really it is a receptionist/personal banker helper. I am rather interested in this position because..... I want to learn more in the persoanl banker postition, and I love talking and helping people which is what the receptionist would do.... but the big kicker is..... I wouldn't have a cash drawer! I can't tell you how happy that actually makes me... I have dreamt a many nights.. even to this day of my teller cash drawer not balancing... They were almost Nightmares... so can you see where I would actually be relieved? So this job sounds very exciting to me, not only for the job, but for the people as well, I met a couple ladies who would be my supervisors, and they were awesome. This bank is a very community and family oriented bank, so they do alot of socials and festivals, as well as parades in the city. One other good point was... they don't push us to sell their products offered. I remember in the last bank I worked at... I was being pushed to sell products to customers whether they needed it or not. Well apparently, the bigger banks have now made that a priority, and even lowered the pay rate so that you work to make up the difference in sells. So thank god this bank isn't doing things that way. So far this is the job I want. but we will see.
I have another interview today with a Credit Union , so I am interested to see how they run things, and what they have to offer! Wish me luck!
